Nicky Albrecht, owner of Get Changed, Pain, Injury and Well-being Practice:
Nicky is an experienced, allied health practitioner with a passion for bodies and movement. Her mission is to help people, with pain or injuries, find symptom relief and get back to doing the things they love, through the use of hands-on and self-care management strategies.
She has been fortunate to work alongside and learn from leaders in the field of muscle, joint and skeletal health, rehab, acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term) pain management. And is dedicated to sharing her knowledge with those battling pain and recurrent injuries.
Common pain and injuries seen in her practice include back pain (strains, disc injuries, nerve entrapment), neck pain, shoulder pain (frozen shoulder, tendonitis, impingement), leg, knee, arm or foot pain, carpel tunnel syndrome and rolled ankles.
Her practice currently operates from Mosman Park with a satellite clinic in Fernwood Fitness gym, Melville.
Chronic pain, injury and illness in focus:
Growing up in a farming community with a family business in skiing, and as a sportswoman with two England caps, a British cap and several national awards in different sports, Nicky has had her fair share of serious injuries. She’s also had her fair share of motherhood and midlife health challenges. But, Nicky believes life’s hurdles shape us.
Through a combination of her career to date and her own personal experiences, Nicky understands what a devastating effect pain, injury or debilitating chronic illness can have on life and how it even impacts those around you.
With empathy and focus on the valuable lessons she has learned along the way, Nicky incorporates a whole person approach to help those grappling with more complex health challenges find solutions and, or better ways to manage the pain or dysfunction associated with their condition. Her clinical interests include pain and reduced ability associated with old injuries, underlying Autoimmune disorders, Chronic fatigue (ME), Fibromyalgia, POTS syndrome.
She looks forward to meeting you to discuss your individual health goals and needs.
